Started on a kitchen table, still run that way
Thread & Salt began as a handful of linen dresses Mara made for friends who kept asking where they'd bought theirs. A few seasons in, it's still a two-person operation — small runs, natural fabrics, and nothing we wouldn't wear ourselves.
We keep the range deliberately narrow. Rather than chase every trend, we'd rather get a dozen pieces exactly right and let people come back for them season after season — which, happily, most of our customers do.
We ship from the coast, in packaging you can compost, to a growing list of people who found us mostly through friends and Instagram rather than advertising. That's still how most people find us today.
